And The Greatest Movie Of All Time Is …

God, I hate lists. But while surfing Empire’s site for that Superman story, I found the magazine’s “500 Greatest Movies of All Time” list. It’s here. Making a list like this is impossible, as everyone’s tastest are different. And they make you click around forever before you find their No. 1 film. Big surprise. So, agree? Disagree? Weigh in.

Good ‘God’

A few major outlets are weighing in on Paramount’s great Godfather restoration, on sale today.

Dave Kehr comments in the NY Times, saying, “Mr. Coppola’s three films seem to have reclaimed the golden glow of their original theatrical screenings — a glow that has been dimmed and all but extinguished over the years through a series of disappointing home video editions.”

USA Today’s Mike Snider reports on the actual restoration process.

And you, of course, are supposed to go out and buy it. We’re not here to sell stuff for Paramount mind you, but really, this is a no brainer. And if you have wisely transitioned to Blu-ray, the three masterpieces … well, two and a misfire … are also available in that pristine format.

With GTA4’s New York City-esque setting, it wasn’t going to be long before someone made an homage to The Godfather using the game. But a few of the other clips in this sequence are genius (American History X? Brilliant!). I won’t spoil the identity of the last clip in this montage of six flicks, but it’s definitely worth watching.
