Reuters reports that Sony is considering a Venom spin-off following the success of Heath Ledger’s Joker characterization.

Can you imagine a worse idea? Overall reviews of Spider-Man 3 were mixed at best (61% on RT), but Sam Raimi’s treatment of Venom was universally mocked. According to the article:

Topher Grace of “That ’70s Show” fame played the character in the film, but Sony is not yet convinced the actor can carry a big “tentpole” picture.

And fans of the character aren’t convinced he can play Venom at all!!

This can be done. But they have to start over. Venom needs to look like this:
