Hulk on a Road to Nowhere… Again?
In answer to Sean O’Connell’s question from earlier in the week: Is the new Incredible Hulk movie a hit or a bomb? Well, looks like bomb: Just like its predecessor, there appears to be no sequel in the works, again, for the green guy.
Marvel says, “We’re happy with the financial results, even if they (only) reach the first film’s levels. Having a sequel is not the definition of success.”
That’s essentially true. Having two sequels is the definition of success in the comic book movie world.

I wonder if it’s because Hulk has no decent villains that demand feature in a sequel? IRON MAN is going to have the same problem in pending films.

If that’s the case how did the Ferrigno series run for 5 seasons???

Television, by nature, is episodic. You don’t need a Big Bad (in Joss Whedon terms) to carry a TV series. But movies benefit from a proper villain, and the Hulk movies have yet to introduce one.

I always thought the Hulk worked best as an investigation of Man vs. Himself….
