That’s Incredible!
After four weeks, Louis Leterrier’s reimagined The Incredible Hulk has tallied $124.8 million at the domestic box office.
Five years ago, Ang Lee’s Hulk had tallied $124.6 million after four weeks of play. And that film is now considered a failure.
What, then, does that make Leterrier’s Hulk? A rousing success? Hardly. You can factor in competition, rising ticket prices and other economic excuses. But to me, it basically says there’s a limited audience out there looking for a Hulk film, and they’ll come regardless of the director, writer or cast. Or, it means Marvel will try it again in 2013.
