When I heard that Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell were going to star in a new Sherlock Holmes comedy, I wondered who was going to be Holmes and who was going to be Watson. I’d assumed Ferrell would be Holmes, the headliner, but sure enough, Cohen is Holmes. Now that’s smart casting, assuming people can keep Ferrell’s manic-faux-drunken shtick, which has dominated his last three or four movies, in check.
